All the body parts were loaded onto a cart and taken back to Frankie's laboratory where the operating table was made ready for surgery.

"Now zen, let’s start wiz zee body, I uze zat extrra large vun, und szew on zee missing leg. Oh nine, nine! I do not belief it! All of zee shpare legs are rrright footed und I vant zee left vun, I leaf zee leg for zee moment."

He put all the waste legs into a sack in the corner of the laboratory.

"Vot about zee hand, zere must be .... oh nine, nine! I vant zee rrright hand und all zee shpares are zee left hands, I leaf zee hand for zee moment."

All the spare arms and hands went into the sack.

"Hmm, I sew on zee head wiz zee dent in zee top. All of zee blood vessels, nerfes, und muscles must be carefully joined togedder."

Soon the head was in place.

"First I cut off zee dented top of zee head, zen I must rrremove zee old brrain, leafing all zem sticky connecting bits in place. Nearly zere, just need to flip out zee brrain wiz my figure; ooops."

The brain flipped out and landed on his foot.

"Yuk!" he kicked it into the corner, it bounced once and went straight into the sack. "Hmm, goot schot. Zat gifs me an idea for zee new game. Nine, ve could nefer get enough old brrains to kick arround."

“Now I attach zee large set of private parts wiz zee birth mark

near zee tip. Hmm, I sink zay belonged to young Fritz Shtruddle.”

"Cooey!" Helga called as she entered the laboratory. "Vood you like a liddle shnack or somesing, my liddle frrankfurter, you must be gedding verrry hungry."

"Nine, nine, I do zee very important verk here; you must not interrrrupt me my liddle rrose pedal."

"Vot is it you are up to, und who is zat handsome young man you are operating on."

"Zis, handsome young man, vill be our son; I hope."

"Our son? You mean, zis is Frankie Junior? Oh, I am szo prroud off him, he iz szuch a big boy, I must help, I go knit him zee jumper."

"Ya, go knit zee jumper. Now zen, vere vas I, oh ya, I must carefully rrremove zee good brrain frrom zee other head, zen I must join all zem gooey bits togedder und put zee lid back on zee top."

It was a long operation, sweat dripped from Frankie's brow, one wrong move and he knew that all would be lost. The tension grew as, one by one, he skilfully joined all the gooey bits, then, finally, eleven minutes later, the lid was back in place.

"Szo Junior, let’s take a look at you. Hmm, you still need vun eye, vun hand, und vun leg. I must wrrite zee ledder to all my frriends und rrelatives asking zem to szend me zees bits, szo zat I can finish Junior und brring him back to life. In zee meantime I will take him back to zee glacier und freece him szo he vill keep frresh."
